Omaha Limit Changes

Most Omaha H/L games at the Bettendorf, Iowa, poker room used to be played at the 6-12 limit with a half kill. I almost got accustomed to quickly calculating multiples of 18 during the kill hands (laughs). They have now switched to 5-10 Omaha with a full Kill. This is a slightly bigger game, I think, due to the full kill, but it moves a lot faster since the dealers aren't having to make change or manipulate big stacks of white chips. All in all, it has been a good change.

They have regular sign up games for Omaha on Monday through Friday. The Monday through Thursday games start at 1:30 p.m. The Friday game starts at 1:00 p.m. Don't try to figure out why, just go with it (laughs). You can get on the list for a particular game any time during the week prior to the start of the game. Once you manage to get seated in the start of a game, you can keep that seat for future weeks as long as you show up on time each week. Otherwise, the next person on the list will get the seat and you will have to get back on the list. It's hardest to get in the Friday game. The other ones aren't too bad.

The Bad Beat Jackpot for Omaha is triggered by quad tens. The jackpot as of yesterday was over $52,000.
