Ramblings by the River

Low and behold, the pocket 44's came through again! I was playing 3-6 Holdem last evening and picked up 4-4 in a kill pot (which took it to 6-12 from 3-6). I was the first bettor and we were rather short handed so I raised to disguise my hand and possibly win the pot outright. I picked up a couple of callers. The flop was all hearts so I bet out to try to steal the pot again. I got a caller. The turn was the 4 of hearts making 4 hearts on board!

Now I have three fours which is undoubtably not good if I get called but is worth another bet as a semi-bluff. I got called. The river was a deuce which paired the board and gave me 4-4-4-2-2! I bet and the other player raised. Oh no, I thought he made a bigger full house so I just called. He turned up the Ace of Hearts, but no full house. He was trying to trap me by not raising on the turn. Good one!
